I really don't have a favorite book, but The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo is a book that a recently read and enjoyed, so I thought I would do my book cover after it. I haven't seen the movie yet, so I wonder how well the movie is based on the book since I know sometimes they change a few things during filming.

Whoa, your book design is way better! Nicely done I like your placement of the text around and down the contour of the dragon. The colors chosen are great as well I like how the green vibrates off the red, very cool. I am not really sure what I would change about it. :) Good job!
ReplyDeleteWrite the book publisher, they should reproduce with your cover vs. the original! Great job! Red is way more fitting as the background color!
ReplyDeleteI favored your version over the published version. The published version is too ordinary to be noticed, just like the most of best seller book on the shelf. The dragon put emphasis on the cover and spine reflected one idea clearly. It definitely caught people's attention.
ReplyDeleteI agree with everyone else! I like yours better. I think the red background makes the cover stand out. Red to me usually means violence or love. I haven’t read the book or watched the movie either, but do know what it’s about to a degree. Seems violence plays a big part in it. The black dragon design is a good size on the cover as well. I like the yellow/green color type face against the red. Outstanding job!
ReplyDeleteI think the red and green clash especially on the spine. In this case it would not matter but in an unknown book maybe.

I agree with everyone... very good job. No excellent!
ReplyDeleteI also agree with Jon, I think the original green does clash a bit, the yellow works much better.
my only advise I posted is in your revision of the spine...
